This is my cat and she is resting under some solar panels. I bought some solar panels with my stimulus money. I thought I would buy something that can save me some money over the years.
So I bought some solar panels from Amazon. Polycrystalline type of solar panels. I saw a video on Youtube called, Amazon.com Solar Panels: Mono vs Poly - Real World Test - Worth the $$?, it is put up by DIY Solar Power with Will Prowse. Check out that video as I did and I thought from what I saw, I would buy the Rich Solar polycrystalline.
In that video the Rich Solar was cheaper and it did have more power than the mono. So that was good for me to want to get the Rich Solar polycrystalline that only costs about 80 dollars plus tax per solar panel and for me there was free shipping.
In the video the guy would put running water on the solar panels and that would increase the wattage for a short time. I did that myself today and did notice that the wattage did go up a bit, but of course the water dries off and the solar panel increases in heat. Well that will help you make sure to spray off the panels regularly to clean them off and to cool them off.
I would set up my solar panels on modified pallets. I would attach some of my old deck boards to pallets and by doing so I would increase the space to which I can attach solar panels. So with one modified pallet I can attach 2 solar panels.
I used metal stakes that the pallet can lean against and I would tie the pallet to the metal stakes that were part buried into the ground.

So you can see that there is some pretty good shade for my cat to have and rest under.
