I would hear movement in the house and then I would look at my cat. My cat would wonder at that noise too. It was this rat.
I would watch the rat take cat food from my cat's food bowl. Not only me, but my cat would notice it too. The thing was that my cat was studying the situation.
My cat knows she just can't chase after the rat as the rat is fast, but if my cat can surprise the rat and catch it in a moment when it least thought it would be caught.
So that cat's studying the situation paid off. I was sitting in my chair and I heard a screeching scream from the rat. I notice my cat come to me with the rat in its mouth. As to show me, see I caught that rat.
I was waiting for my cat to eat the rat, but that didn't happen. No the cat didn't eat it. Maybe her cat food tastes better than the rat, but as you see in the video it kept on chewing at the neck area.
So at least the cat did kill the rat.
There was another time when my cat caught a rat, but she didn't kill it, I thought it was dead and maybe my cat thought it was dead also, but no it was still alive. So that the next day, I even seen that rat walk around. So that was disappointing to see.
So for this dead rat I did take a broom and dust pan and swept the rat into the dust pan and put it outside. I showed my cat where it was so she can eat the rat if she wanted too.
Then I noticed that my cat would not eat the rat. So I took the dead rat and fed it to the skunks. There are skunks that live under my house and there is a plate close to the entrance to where the skunks use to get under my house.
So on that plate did I put the dead rat.
The next day I go back to that plate and the rat was gone, as I believe the skunks ate it. I don't normally feed the skunks that live under my house, but when there is a rat I usually feed the rat to the skunks.
I was trying to catch the rat myself, but I just can't have rat traps out in the open as my cat might step on one. So what I did was to enclose the rat trap inside a sealed box with 4 holes wide enough for a rat, but too small for a cat. This way I can still put out rat traps and still keep my cat safe.
The thing is, is that even though one of the rats is dead, I can still hear another rat in the house. So I will still put out enclosed rat traps and hopefully I will catch more rats, that's if my cat doesn't get to them first.
Let's end with a scripture, as it is written, with Jesus speaking, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Luke 13:24.
