So in the heat of the day it is still in the triple digits. I was thinking since I was sweating it out as I was mowing the lawn. Can one sweat out a lot of salt?
A long time ago salt was very important. In ancient times soldiers were paid in salt and yet most doctors are taught to have a low sodium diet. Why would they want people to have low sodium?
Well, they will tell you that it causes high blood pressure, but is that true? In an audio by the name of Dead Doctor's Don't Lie by Joel Wallach, it mentions that 140 year old's drinking hot tea with butter and a big lump of salt.
So is salt really that bad? Well the salt in the picture is called, Himalayan Salt. This salt has a lot of minerals. So it is a lot better then the white table salt.
I am all about getting more minerals into the body. So the sweat will reduce your salt, but also other minerals too. On a very hot day you might want to replace the salts that you lost during your activity in the heat.
As for me, after mowing my lawn in the heat I went and got some water and mixed in a few shakes of Himalayan salt into the water and drank it.
Of course what goes good with salt to create a good balance is potassium. There is a way to bring up your potassium level and that is to eat some wakame seaweed.
So today in my city we reached 105 degrees Fahrenheit. To some that is really hot. Though I have seen days of 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Well, thank God we don't see too many of those days.
I can see where people might lose a lot in sweat.
I knew someone that stayed in her bedroom upstairs and it was one of those triple digit hot days. Well, she didn't drink that much during the day and she did sweat a lot.
Well she ended up in a hospital. Her daughter was holding her hand and she woke up and said to her daughter, Who are you and why are you holding my hand?
Of course the daughter said, Mom, it is me, your daughter. This person that sweat so much and didn't drink much water didn't even know her daughter. She actually said, I don't have a daughter, who are you?
OK, that is pretty scary to hear as I knew the person that went through all that heat with no or little water and I also know the daughter.
Of course after awhile with liquid IV's and all, she did finally recognize her daughter, but can you see what losing all that sweat and losing salt and other minerals can do not only to the body, but also to one's mental health?
So today as I was mowing the lawn and sweating pretty good, I wanted to replace the liquids and salts that I might have lost during my sweat.
Also I am not a doctor, so do look into replacing any lost salts from a lot of sweating and do come to your own conclusions.
Let's end with a scripture, with Jesus speaking, Salt good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. Mark 9:50.
