I'm not sure about you, but on the odd day when it's sunny, this time of year seems to have beautiful light.
I was off to my Mum's for Sunday dinner, and thought I'd take the drone out, the app said it was good to fly and looking at the weather out the window, I couldn't have agreed more.

On my way to my Mum's house, I decided to stop off in town, with it being a Sunday and 99% of shops closed, I knew there wouldn't be many people around, I pulled into a carpark behind some shops knowing that I was well away from anyone, did the DJI dance and flew the drone straight up.

The view was kind of like I imagined, knowing the area like the back of my hand really helps.

Then it happened, those bloody pigeons.

Thankfully they didn't fly into the drone, but they kept doing circles around it and seemed to be getting closer and closer each time. The best thing about it is that I'd checked the area for pigeons etc and there was none there when I took off, but they decided to come and check Josephine out.
Yes, that's that name for my drone, Josephine the flying machine lol.

After that I went to Mum's for a lovely Sunday dinner, mmmmmmm.

I was keeping an eye out on the weather, and thought, I've had enough of watching Last Of The Summer Wine repeats, I need to get out and take advantage of this light.

I seemed to time it right, I was on the side of field just off a public footpath, so after navigating the mud, I found my take off location.

Beautiful views over the field and could see my target in site, the three dams of Greasbrough.

I shot a picture a few years ago with an old Phantom 3 Standard, very similar position, but it wasn't half as good as this one. The camera really did let the phantom 3 standard down.

When I look at the picture above, I can only imagine how many times I've walked passed these dams, from being a child in a pram to an adult (age 47), I must have done this thousands of times and it never gets old or boring and always something to see.

All these shots were done using a DJI Mini 2, some have been processed with Lightroom and Luminar Aurora HDR while some are basically straight from the drone with minor tweaks in lightroom.

If you'd like to visit the area click here for the Google Maps location

Thanks ever so much for reading this blog, I may do a little review on the DJI Mini 2, the things I like and the things I dislike about the drone, what do you think?

Anyhow, I hope you all have a fantastic week.

All the best :-)
