Last month I added Wendy's to my Watch List.

According to Google, meme traders are chasing a short squeeze causing the stock to "rocket", but I just noticed it was cheap and thought, this might be a good time. Compared to other fast food chains, the price is low. Change of management suggests innovation.
"Wendy’s generated about $2.18B in annual revenue with a fat 63.3% gross margin and an EBIT margin north of 15%. That is solid profitability for a mature fast-food chain. Net margin is near 6.8%, and the latest quarter shows net income of roughly $22.7M, or $0.12 per share, with EBITDA at about $108.8M. Cash flow is a key piece for traders tracking WEN. Operating cash flow came in near $59.4M for the quarter, with free cash flow around $47.5M after capital spending. That helps support a hefty dividend rate of $0.56 per share, implying a dividend yield above 6% at recent prices. On paper, WEN screens “cheap,” with a P/E under 9 and price-to-sales near 0.6."

I bought Wendy's the other week, and I figure if I acquire as much in stock as I spend each month on Food there, that could be a winning strategy. The only question is whether I will have enough Buffer cash in my Wealth account, so acquire some before the price goes over $11 USD.
"..industry veteran Steve Cirulis will become Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer, succeeding Ken Cook, who has served as CFO since 2024 and will remain in an advisory role through July to ensure a smooth transition."
"Additionally, Steve serves as a board director of <a href="https://maverik.com/"Maverik Group, LLC, one of the largest convenience store and fuel retail chains in the United States. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance, Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University."

With some new leadership we might see some positive changes, and hopefully increased valuations.
"A large 1,000-unit China development agreement creates a multi-year franchise growth runway that diversifies revenue beyond the U.S. market. As a franchised rollout, it should generate scalable royalty and fee income with limited company capex, supporting durable systemwide sales expansion and margin accretion."

Translated: "This personnel change at Wendy's comes amid four consecutive quarters of negative growth, particularly with same-store sales declining by 7.8% in the first three months of 2026. According to Reuters, Wendy's stock has lost approximately 13% of its market capitalization since January of this year."
I found this blog post about the new store in Shanghai.
I will keep my eye on the price of Wendy's and I am thinking about buying some.
