Rooftopping… it’s dangerous they say. Sure, it is, but have you ever been up there? People say they would never do that…
… It’s crazy!
So if these people see a human being up there, they get crazy. They get so crazy, that they even call the police! Isn’t that crazy?
The humanbeing that is up there chilling his mind and feeling the most free, that a human can actually feel… is crazy.. That’s pathetic..
That’s how they think, isn‘t it? But let’s see it from the eyes of the person down there, that just spoted the humanbeeing on the 100 meters high rooftop. Why do they think that this person is crazy? Ok it’s high, but hight isn’t dangerous if you don’t fall. Maybe they are trying to steal someones goods, or maybe they are even trying to kill someone! (Probably not...
… but what if they want to commit suicide? They don’t know, and if they don’t know what to do, then the police must know. So they call the police.
If you as a roofer are in (or on) someones property, you are doing ilegal things, if you don’t have the permission to. That’s something every roofer knows, don’t worry!
So why would you like to be a criminal? Is it the adrinalin?
I can tell you something: If eating chocolate would bei ilegal tomorrow, would you stop eat it, if you had some left in your kitchen? Definitly not. You would eat it! But why? Because it’s ilegal, or because you just like it? While you were eating the chocolate, someone was watching you true your window. The next thing you know, is that the police is knocking on your door. You are arrested because you did something you like to do.
Isn’t that crazy? It is! I Know the example is totaly bizarre but you know what I meant.
Every roofer (ok, let’s say 98%) do rooftopping, not because of the adrinalin, but because they like it. They feel this feeling of freedom, of letting go the daily life and live just the moment they are in. It’s a wonderful moment.
As a person that is walking on the sideway and sees someone on the building, they don’t know what you are searching there and maybe they think, you want to kill yourself. So they call the police.
To every roofer: Don’t be mad, when the one that called the police tried to do what he/she thinked was the best for you. And for every human that thinks about calling the police: You do the right thing! Maybe you would think one more minute about calling the police and the next thing you see is someone falling off the building. Would you just call the police and not thinking about it that one minute, the police could rescue the human up there.
So my message with this Blog is: If you are a roofer… don’t forget to put at least a note on the main door from the building you are roofing on!
“Hello, if you see someone on the roof of this building, please don’t call the police, we are not doing bad things and also not thinking about suicide. Thank you for worrying, but everything is ok, we are just enjoying the view up here.”
