What has actually been achieved by the U.S. war on Iran—now 200 days in—which has inflicted damage on the global economy?
The Iranian regime has not fallen, the fate of Iran’s enriched uranium remains unknown, and the Strait of Hormuz has not returned to its pre-war status.
Furthermore, should the Iranian regime collapse, the question arises: who would replace it? The alternative could be far worse, or chaos could engulf both Iran and the wider region.
The United States has spent hundreds of billions of dollars on this war, yet it has overlooked the need for healthcare reform at home.
It has ignored the millions of homeless people within its own borders.
It has failed to address numerous pressing domestic issues; if only those billions had been spent on solving—or at least alleviating—these problems instead.
Unfortunately, this war is neither the first nor will it be the last. The U.S. has waged dozens of wars and spent trillions of dollars, yet ultimately failed to achieve its objectives—as clearly evidenced by the conflicts in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
