Heart disease describes a variety of conditions that affect your heart. Diseases under the umbrella of heart disease include diseases of the blood vessels, such as coronary heart disease; heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias); and the cardiac malformations with which he was born (congenital heart defects), among others. A heart attack occurs when a plaque breaks and forms a clot in the artery that causes a complete blockage. This part of the heart muscle that is denied blood supply begins to die.
Symptoms may include:
1- Chest pain, chest tightness, chest pressure and chest discomfort (angina pectoris)
2- Shortness of breath
3- Pain, numbness, weakness or cold sensation in the legs or arms if the blood vessels of these parts of the body become narrow
4- Pain in the neck, jaw, throat, upper abdomen or back
All people with coronary artery disease do not have chest pain as a symptom. Some may have signs and symptoms of exercise indigestion or intolerance in which they can not perform activities that they would normally perform.
Heart disease affects blood vessels and the cardiovascular system. Many problems can result, many of which are related to a process called atherosclerosis, a condition that develops when plaque builds up in the walls of arteries. This buildup reduces the arteries, making it difficult for the blood to pass. If a blood clot forms, it can stop the blood flow.
