Sunday run in the sun - planning the schedule for next week.
I just finished a 4.983km running that lasted about 0hh:30mm:15ss !
Just a quick run today. My work/home schedule looks increasingly busy over the next two weeks, so I need to plan in advance where I can squeeze some runs in. I threw together a quick list of stuff I need to do each day (work or other jobs round the house) and then slotted the runs in where I could.
You could argue that at this time of year it isn't important, and I could take a week off from running: "it won't hurt surely?"
Wrong.
Not only am I still new to doing this, and therefore currently highly motivated, but I also know from prior experience that if I take a week off at this early stage I will lose momentum and that will quickly turn into 4 weeks of no running.
I can't afford to do that.
Even if I cut them down to small 15 minute runs, I still need to keep a regular routine, it will make it much easier to carry it on in the new year.
As for the run itself. Weather was lovely again, cool but bright and sunny. And there was no annoying wind this time. I picked the same route I have done recently so I could do an easy 5km run. For some unknown reason, it was measured at 4.983km. That's almost there, but not quite, and the OCD part of me is furious that I didn't run the extra 17 metres needed to reach the full 5km.
Very frustrating!
I will need to adjust the route next time to make sure I hit the nice round number....
