This is one of those reasons you can't just miss church service. Today was our midweek and I just say a time well spent in the house of God. To others it may seem a show but I personally acknowledge the existence of the supreme one. Yes, I am talking of God who made the heavens and the Earth.
One of my fathers of faith said anytime you are in church; pray for an encounter. That has always been my mentality, there is no joking because it is not an arena to look at anyone's face. During sermon, I TRY to give ALL my attention to the preacher, you never can tell what word of knowledge can change your mind.
I can remember the day a preacher changed my mentality with a statement; ‘don't accept you are a hustler’ and after a well detailed explanation, I had to upgrade my mentality. Something I used to like saying boldly became very irritating to me. Maybe I should just break a little to explain to you who a hustler actually is. We are talking of someone with no road map here. His daily life is anything goes. Is there a tangible future for such a person?.
So you see why I had to later rethink the whole thing. I have a future and anytime I wake up, I work on that. My God to start with is not a hustler so why so I be anything less. “In the beginning, God made the heavens and the earth”. Did you get that straight, planning and execution, this is not a casual activity.

I think I am already delving deeper into the entire article from this explanation. It was another life upgrading sermon. Many are suffering the fate of mental strongholds. So what's a stronghold in the first place. It can be used to attribute something positive and negative too. Looking through a negative application, it can be a system meant to keep someone under cage or custody.
Just add ‘mental’ there and you will come to realize we are talking of a mental caging. How can this be? Maybe we have to gradually answer the question of why many are settling for less. It is a mental attack and I can say the most difficult war to fight is the one inside your head. It disrupts your mind, cages down potential and limits to exploits.
Many are too afraid to try something. ‘oh! What will people say, I better settle for the little I have, I don't want to be greedy or covetous’. Please be sincere with yourself, ‘YOU ARE AFRAID’ and this is a mental stronghold.
It was something the preacher gad to take time and emphasize on this evening. What are those negative patterns you are seeing around yourself, family and neighborhood. Everyone is just starting and ending locally. Be sure it doesn't lock you down to believe it is being self content. People are doing business internally, they are not having two or three heads. Please do yourself a favor by waking up.
To conclude, let me add, there is a need to contend with everything that wants to push you backwards. Mental strongholds are very real and prayer, fasting and godly living is a sure way to break out of it. I am not talking of formalities here; God is of all wisdom and is ever ready to lift to ant height just if you are ready to go with him.
