Foundation is the building; when this goes wrong, many things are likely to go wrong. It has been meeting upon meeting, strategy upon strategy; the idea is how to get it right and adding to that, how to bond the company stronger in corporation.
Right from January, we have had some strategic moves to make as a company. We still have a lot of grounds to cover and at least I am happy we are somewhere. Running this business from just a small shop to a registered company has been a five years journey with ups and downs.
Our inexperience too played its parts in the down part. Wrong investments, business modules, people, customers and so on. We just had to keep on improving ourselves as an upcoming brand. There is always a need to have a vision, no matter how light it may seem, be encouraged that your visions are for the future.
Debts piled up and it seems we were finally going to fold I think in our third year. Difficult times can birth ideas; this was when we thought of expanding into another sector. The entire idea was to include another service that could help draw in more tangible profit. That was how we move from just a small laundry shop to a Laundry and sewing business premises.
We got registered still with great visions. Well, it was not a mistake and we even pushed further to include a branding department. Although we are still yet to fully connect this dots to meet up profit, this brand has experienced progress and progress is a good asset to build upon.
When you reach a stage where an investor can put trust in what you are currently doing and where you are going, you can't fail to admit it's a positive progress.
Attention has been turned currently into creating a solid team. The idea of drawing in professionals is not bad but there is also a need to train some staff from scratch ( from apprentice to later employees).
We need to learn but control and proper workflow management. It can be difficult to exert pressure on professionals but it is not going to be the same with internal staff. We need to mingle our own team together with professionals to make work faster with a lesser cost in the entire production cycle.
To conclude, let me add, how workable will this idea be? I am very positive to start with. Secondly, grassroot staff will have more respect for company visions. They know that they have a good opportunity to flourish if the brand grows.
Ok, we have a current role to play; get the right apprentices that will fit into what we aim to achieve in the space of 6 to 18 months. It is a test running process and I know we will also have to learn in the process. We are in the ‘team building phase’.
What are your contributions here? I wouldn't mind hearing from you as to how we can meet up this current course. Do you have any experience to share, let us know
