This one is understood when heading straight to a PoS vendor but how about buying something from a business premises and having to pay a charge for the transfer. I never took it seriously on my other days of heading to the market until recently.
Sir I want to make a transfer and his reply was, you will have to withdraw and give me cash. Ahh! Why so?, I insisted. Sorry my phone has issues. How come everytime I want to make a transfer there are always phone issues or a complaint concerning their banks yet they have POS vendors hanging around to do the transaction and collect you extra cash adding up to your total cost of purchase.
Could it be that the POS machine is theirs but they decided to hand it over to someone else just to make an extra profit on every buy made through transfers?. Oh! You are getting it NOW; ‘my phone is bad is not actually a mistake, it is part of the business’. Just consider how much money comes in totally at the end of the sales day.
If you give them cash, they will keep it for money selling through POS. You can imagine how these guys have set up a system to stay in profit (or properly put, extortion) at the inconvenience of an innocent customer.
To conclude, let me add, that's how the matter is over here. One needs to be very smart when heading to the main market. You will overspend just for patronizing.
