I decided to play the HBD game a bit, since I post so much about it, its good to practice all that theory :)

I bought HBD both on the internal and the external market.

On the external markets I used Cub and the BUSD-BHBD pool there, that at the moment has around 250k in liquidity.

HBD has three pools now on Cub:

  • BUSD-BHBD
  • BHIVE-BHBD
  • CUB-BHBD

All three combined have more than 500k in liquidity. You can use services like Paraswap that will combine the best pools an routing for the swap you want to make, providing the lowest slippage.
Thanks to the leo team for pushing for a liquidity here.

This one trades is 1235 BUSD for 1320 HBD, and in theory when HBD comes back to the peg it will provide me a profit of around 100$. That is not bad for a safe play.

On the internal market you can buy in HBD only with HIVE, so you need some liquid HIVE to do it in the first place. The buying on the internal market was with a 774 HIVE for 240 HBD. This was some HIVE that I had pooled with SPS on Hive Engine.

I had some HBD in wallet and that added up to 312 HBD, that are put in conversions back to HIVE that will end in 3.5 days. In theory I should end up with more HIVE than I started but that all depends on the price of HIVE in next 3.5 days.

The play on the internal market is a bit more complicated and riskier than the one on the external market, where I simply buy HBD starting with BUSD and wait for HBD to come back to the peg and sell for profit. On the internal market you are tied in the native currencies, starting with HIVE and if the price of that one changes in the conversion period it can cause you a loss.

Depending on the market conditions might repeat some of the above in the following days/hours.

Part of me wants to go much deeper with the HBD buy ins especially on the Cub pools, but then I remind myself that this is crypto and everything can happen and when it comes to trading you should play only with what you can afford to lose :).

How are you playing these volatile times?
