When you are an educator by profession and over the years you have a daughter, you realize or you put yourself in the position of all those parents who prefer their children to be educated in an academic way because parents do not always have patience or when they have a little patience they lose it very quickly.

It is then when the suffering that many live at home begins, for example:

  • Parents who do not have patience to teach
  • Parents who are not studied and therefore cannot teach content in academic areas at any level.
  • Parents who work all day and cannot sit down in the evenings for even 30 minutes to study with their children.
  • Parents who have their children from the age of 6 months in daycare and do not get involved in the first 3 years of life where they learn their first basic notions of learning.
  • Parents that on weekends are free time for notebooks and pencils and only have rides and technology 24/7.

All these parents although I do not share these points are parents with whom I have fought and lived with for more than 12 years of work, but I am NOT in the position to judge them because Venezuelans have few laws that protect us in terms of the process of upbringing and fulfillment of education at home, there is nothing that forces them to those first 3 years of life are to educate from home. Because it is true that at the present time the Educational System receives infants in nursery school from the age of 6 months, initial education with 3 years of age and primary education with 6 years of age and from then on we almost have teenagers.

And truly, TODAY the biggest challenge, the most DIFFICULT thing is to educate at home and I realized this when I had my daughter and started with her education and formation process at home.

But I must confess that we did not have the courage to put her in a nursery since she was 6 months old, besides it was EXCLUSIVE breastfeeding, as a mother I did not feel ready to leave her, so during her first 3 years of life the education was 100% at home.
Starting with creating routines in her eating habits, for the process of sphincter control, and so on until we got to the leaf and colors, where I only let her express and identify with the hand she felt comfortable to take the color, then we started to create doodles, circles, lines, and much more.
Every afternoon since she turned 3 years old part of the routine is to go to school and in the afternoons after a little nap, we did letters and numbers and reinforced what she learned during the day.

She is currently 4 years old and knows how to write her first and last name. She learned this at home by reinforcing her school activities at home, we have managed to make her be applied, she remembers her homework easily and the most important thing is that she likes to study and learn new things...

Parents who read me do not feel bad, homeschooling is not easy, it is a job that takes time and dedication. I am not the only one who can do it because I am an educator. We can do it all from patience and love.

On weekends on a walk, at the beach or in the park you can also learn and we can educate them.
