Being a Production Manager, my work life is all about creating goals and attaining them. All companies are always looking for ways to improve. Do they ever take action? Do they ever actually improve?
It is daily practice to develop and review metrics to help us decide if we are doing what we have planned. Without metrics, we have no idea whether we are on our way to achieving our goals, or if we ever actually achieve them...
I have been talking about a lot of things that I would like to change and or improve in my life. In past years I never seem to accomplish or attain any of these goals. This year I am planning on putting some goals our here on Steemit and keeping track of how I am doing. This will hopefully give me motivation and keep me accountable.

Resolution #1
Weight loss and Fitness goals:
I weighed myself today and the number was 230.4lbs. This is the heaviest I have ever been. I am pretty athletic and have put on some weight in the past, only to change my routine and take it back off. Over the last couple of years I have not really put any effort into taking care of my own health. Here are the goals that I am setting to improve my health in the year 2018.
- Cut back on eating fast food. Now stopping completely would not be realistic. What I am allowing myself is only 1 fast food meal per calendar month. I will also be going to Disney for a week in February. this may involve some fast food but I will do my best to make the best choices possible.
- Increase activity level. I will spend at least 4 days a week performing some sort of physical activity. This may include lifting weights, running on the treadmill, snowboarding, biking, ect. These sessions will last for at least 30 minutes.
- Reduce late night snacking. Often we will head out and grab some Ketchup potato chips and pop to watch one of our favourite TV shows or a movie. My plan is to switch to healthier snacks such as apple slices of veggies instead of chips.
- Weight loss target: 199 lbs. I want to hit this goal before the end of the year and stay below 200 lbs until the end of 2018.
Stayed tuned as I roll out some of my other new years goals in the coming days.
I highly encourage you to set your own goals! Lets make this next year one to remember!
