Trinity is a scaling solution for Neo.
Neo is already scaleable compared to ETH. So, is it really needed now? Maybe not.
Moreover, Neo is already working on their scalability.
Will it be ever needed in the future?
Maybe, if it is adopted by institutions and becomes really successful.
On the other hand, ETH isn't really scaleable. Hence, Raiden Network RDN offers real solution for the time being.
So, for the time being, RDN looks more investable than TNC. Although RDN is already valued around $200M, there won't be a significant growth. However, I consider it as a more secure and stable investment.
In a long run?
We aren't very sure who will eventually win. Competition is extremely high for both ETH and Neo. Cardano, EOS, and many others on the way. HPB, Zilliqa, and Hashgraph just coming in with great promises. If these new projects can deliver on their promises, we might not need any scaling solutions in the future.
Therefore, I am considering pulling out of TNC and instead enhancing my position on RDN during the next Alt surge/dip.
