As an investor I like to bet on the underdogs. And when it comes to crypto, we all know that Bitcoin is the king and that Ethereum is the underdog. So when I've started my crypto journey, guess which asset I was staring to accumulate? You guess right, it's Ethereum. Back in 2027, together with my brother, I've built a mining rig and started mining Eth. At the times my dream was to see Ethereum flip Bitcoin considering that it really has practical implementations, while the other was just a store a value. But that never happened until now and it is hard for me to see it happening in the near future as well.
But the current bullish moment that Bitcoin created on the crypto market, pulled with it all the other assets as well. And by looking at the graphs somehow for me feels that Eth came strong and recovered quite a bit of value lost. And who knows, maybe in this run it will truly shine. While in the previous bearish times it touched $1.5k, now it stands around $2.5k which means 166.67% gain. While I have a good stack of it, I cannot but wonder what a good move would have been if I bought more at $1.5k. But in the same time, my overall investments thought me not to be greedy. So I am good with what I have, but maybe this is another lesson on how I can time my future investments.
Writing this post is not to hype on Ethereum, but rather an observation on its trajectory and the later recovery. I see strength in it and looking forward i hope this time it will break the $5k mark. That was the exit point for me in the previous bull run and thinking to have that at least in the next bull wave. I anticipate that the market will move stronger based on historical data, but you never know. It also depends of anyone's needs and comfort with the levels of taking profit. Usually real life has priority and one might pull the trigger early just to make a meaningful change in it. And who knows, maybe I'll be one of them although I am not thinking to be.
The good thing is that money started to go back into crypto and it will probably continue to do so. Now anticipating which assets will do better is hard to tell, but my experience tells me to go with the already established ones that moved the needle in the right direction also in the previous bull run. And my bet will continue to be on Ethereum with the hope for it to reach new ATH. So let's see who will win the race or at least who will be on the podium.
