Hello everyone, I hope all is well. I'm going to show you a small town in France that looks like Venice.
I start with this pond which gave access to a very large house which was previously used as a school more than 70 years ago. Even before that was a small monastery.
The canal below was a little drained at the time, water was drawn from it and something else was thrown into it.
But the main use of this channel was essentially reserved for the tanner. In addition, many cellars bordered this reach and was used for the treatment of leather and fabrics.
You can see that the buildings are all adjoining and rise to several levels. Down at the water's edge the tannery part. At the first level the marketing part. Because behind the first level of these houses there is a street where the products were sold. The second level served as places to live, sleep and eat.
Today the lower part and the first level serves as a restaurant All along the reach you will find a multitude of restaurants
I made this photo to show a bit the architecture of the place
Another view of the side reach restore in the direction of the mill. At the very end there is a weir where previously a mill used the force of water to transform wheat into flour
I turned around to show you another angle
This statue represents Louis Pasteur. Thanks to this man and to his work and the cooperation of other scientists of the time, he found the vaccine against rabies and saved millions of people from this disease that drove people crazy. He also participated in the design of penicillin which is a powerful antibiotic derived from mold produced by fruits.
Here it gives you an idea of how the city is intertwined with its different levels in order to follow the slope of the mountain
A small passage that serves to reach the reach of any hour
The famous pedestrian street which is located behind the first first level of the canal houses.
Today merchants sell their product. Mainly creators and craftsmen
Another cobbled street where it is difficult to find a parking space, the people here move mainly on foot and by bike, but you need a good knurl hahaha
I like this photo where the cobblestones are aligned Thank you for following this post and see you soon
