Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

Today, we took a moment to observe and celebrate what we believe to be Smudges 14th birthday!

Smudge at 14!

Neither we, nor Smudge's former Mom-Hooman, nor the vet actually know exactly how old Smudge is, but the best guess we have — based on when she was a little kitten — is that she was born on or slightly after Valentine's Day 14 years ago!

So we're just going to use today to say Happy Birthday Smudge!

This also marks approximately the three month mark of when Smudge came to live with us.

I'm blessed that my Hoomans are very much animal lovers and they've come to love our little furry Smudge very much as well! We truly weren't too sure how it would work out to adopt a "Senior Citizen" cat.

She is a very sweet natured little cat, and she starts purring loudly pretty much anytime you come close to her.

Unlike BeBe, my former roommate — who would squeal and run away every time people came near her — Smudge is a pretty social little cat who always comes around to check out what you're doing when you're close to her.

We're very happy she's now part of our household!

Meanwhile, the Dad-Hooman is doing his best to stay true to his promise that he would "sell some of the junk from his closet on eBay" so we could use the money to buy more Hive for my account. He has actually been working on getting organized for the last couple of days, and we start getting things out there for sale next week!

I recognize that it's going to be a long and slow process, but I remain mildly hopeful that I might actually become a "Hive Dolphin" before 2022 runs out!

Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!

Caturday Community by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS! It has a lot of subscribers but is not very active.

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community; it's there, but not very active.

Last, but certainly not least, a special shoutout to the recently formed Hive Pets Community which has become quite active and has quite a bit of cat content!

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
