From Markers to Pixels: My Journey to Digital Art with Holozing’s Raccomon
After five days of on-and-off sketching, I finally wrapped up my first digital artwork inspired by Holozing’s Raccomon!
A few months ago, I was using old-school techniques with permanent markers and highlighters. It wasn’t the best medium, but I had a blast with it.
Realizing I wanted to up my presentation game, I decided to dive into digital art. I needed a new tool for practice, and since my old Wacom tablet was long past its prime, I picked up the Huion Kamvas 13. I did a post about it a few days ago.
Once I unboxed the Kamvas, I dove right into sketching.

I chose to recreate a version of Raccomon, a plant-type Holomon. At first, I was just practicing and didn’t expect much from the final result. But as I got into it, I figured I might as well make it look good.

I finalized the outlines with a calligraphy brush, and to my surprise, controlling the Huion pen was way easier than my old Wacom. I thought the learning curve would be steep, but it was actually pretty fun.
The best part? Coloring! I used the original colors for Raccomon, tweaking the intensity and saturation as needed. Digital coloring was so much smoother compared to my old markers and highlighters.

Once I was happy with the colors and details, I moved on to the background. I kept it simple with some grass, small stones, and a silhouette of mountains in the distance. I added a few trees and rocks to give it more depth.
