Hey there, food enthusiasts! How are you today? I hope you are all well as you read a simple homemade doughnut recipe from your cup-bearer. Be with me as you enjoy this simple yet delicious recipe.

Let us prepare the needed ingredients for the homemade doughnut recipe.

Ingredients:

4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup evaporated milk
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup unsalted butter
Oil for frying
Sugar, for rolling/coating the fried donuts

Do the mis en place to easily start the procedure.

Are you ready to start? Of course, I know you're ready. So let's start the process.
1st step:

Let us get a mixing bowl and mix together the 2 1/4 cups of yeast and 1 teaspoon of sugar in warm water (enough to soak the yeast and the sugar). Let it stand for 5 minutes.

2nd step:

Add the remaining sugar, milk, unsalted butter, egg, and salt. Stir it well until combined.

3rd step:

Add the flour gradually, and make sure to mix it together. Continue adding the flour until the dough gathers in the center of the bowl.

4th step:

Put the dough on the table with the sprinkled flour. We need to knead the dough using our palms, pushing it away from us, and fold it inward. Knead until it becomes smooth and elastic.

5th step:

Once the dough is smooth and elastic, shape it into a ball and put it in a dry bowl. Cover it with a clean towel for 1 1/2 hours for the fermentation.

6th step:

After 1 1/2 hours, punch the doubled size dough to release the air. Divide the dough into two portions to make it manageable to cut. Roll it onto a floured board or table. In my case, I used a scale to cut an equal portion of the doughnut (35 to 40 grams, depending on your choice). I form it into a small ball and flatten it using my palm. Since I do not have a doughnut hole cutter, I only create a hole in the middle of the flattened dough using my fingers.

7th step:

Heat the oil in a pan; once it's hot enough, add the donuts to it. Cook on medium for 2 minutes on one side and 1 minute on the other, or until golden brown.

8th step:

Drain the fried donuts on a rack or on a paper towel. Roll them into the sugar for coating and serve while it's moderately hot.

The finished product

It is also a good to pair it with your favorite coffee. When I cooked it, our kids enjoyed it. They always love my cooked foods. The best feeling of being a dad.

I love cooking and baking. It is something that could help me find a way to de-stress. Last February of this year, I passed the assessment in bread and pastry production. I am looking forward to passing an assessment for cooking and food and beverage servicing.

Let us create moments with our loved ones through our passion to serve them delicious food items. It would be a blessing to have healthy food and a healthy family.
