Hello Steemian’s,
Have you ever experienced a situation in the public which was unbelievable and not understandable for you at all? This happened to me last Sunday, when I wanted to eat lunch in a little restaurant on the last day of my Trip in New York City…
But let’s get you in the mood of entering the restaurant, which was very clean and seemed to be a little bit different than what I am used to …
So here I was and planned to spend the next 30 minutes to fuel my body with some healthy stuff 😉
I had to choose the different ingredients for my food and went on to the payment .. So far so good right?
I took my $20 note and I couldn’t believe the next sentence I have heard: “We don’t take Cash!” – I was stunned and had to ask a few more times if she is serious about it.
For sure I had to ask here if she is accepting bitcoin or any other Cryptocurrency in the hope that they are moving in the direction of the future, but this wasn’t the case too. I just had those two payment options available in this moment as I left my credit card at home.
Luckily @twinkleberry helped me out, but it was a little bit uncomfortable having no option to pay the restaurant.
After this little shock we had enough to talk about while enjoying the delicious food seeing below:
I just followed this topic of a cashless society in the media and never experienced anything like this before. Probably we are moving in the direction of a cashless society … Personally, I always prefer payment methods which aren’t being sold to any company, but I am sure that Cryptocurrencies will help me out by that :D
