Philosophy On Monday - Thought About Implementing Bitcoin In Our Current World ðŸ’
Wish you a pleasant Monday everybody!
When I was joining the Bitcoin Expo on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston I met some smart guys who are creating their own Cryptocurrencies as part of their studies.
Here is a little impression of the Bitcoin Expo in the mid of March:
It was interesting to receive a more technical view about the Blockchain Technology and Cryptocurrencies. As Joe, a developer and student who is involved into Cryptocurrencies for a few years now, stated that Bitcoin hasn’t a huge opportunity for the future and is just surrounded from a bubble..
As I don’t agree with this fact, we argued together and found an agreement on the fact that there would a place for Bitcoin as a payment option if stores are offering discounts for Bitcoin Payments. The discount could match the credit card fees of the company so that the store doesn’t have to give up a percentage of their profit. 💰
Furthermore, it would be a great opportunity for the customer to keep their consumer data private and don't give it to the credit card companies.
We also thought about Amazon might move into offering Bitcoin payment methods with a discount which could lead to a further step of mainstream adoption.
At this point we raised the following Question ... ðŸ’
What would happen if Amazon brings out is own Cryptocurrency … would this automatically mean that all other similar payment Cryptocurrencies will be dead?
