Painting on cardboard 20×25 cm

This work is painted with charcoal and acrylic paint.

For me, color in painting is an expression of emotions. A painter never sees an apple as red. He freely and consciously steps into a mental world. That is why we can expect different things from each painting. If he has painted an apple blue, that apple is his mental world. Those who are new to art, I mean students and students: I advise them not to paint everything they see in real color for a period of one month (at least) in order to master color and creative vision. If a banana is yellow, they can paint it red, if a crow is black, they can paint it blue.... The miracle of art happens there.

Don't be afraid to step into your mental world. I'm sure you'll enjoy this exercise.

Those who don't have the courage to do so will not enter the world of art. I have had more than a few hundred art students, and now, after 20 years, I look at their lives and see that those who have pursued art have walked in their own mental world.

So again, as an art teacher, I emphasize that you should enter your mental world with effort and perseverance and give the gift of art to yourself and others. I share my experiences with you here and I hope it will be useful for those who are taking this path.

Yours sincerely; Hossein Rishehri
