You wake up in the morning and you have everything you ever wanted: the right house, the money, the lover, the kids, the financial freedom. You don't have to drag yourself in disgust towards work and you have the luxury of time. You wake up and you don't have to do anything that brings you discomfort. You are free. No more worries, no more chores, no more lack. So, with everything you ever wanted at your feet, what do you do? How would your day look like if you were absolutely free? Think. If the answer feels forced, maybe the problem ain't your life, but yourself.
On a daily basis I can hear people complaining about their lives. There is always something that isn't enough or right. Although from the outside they seem to have it all, it takes only a short talk to realize that even the prettiest flower suffers from misery. They hate their job, they hate their boss, they lack the money, their wife/husband sucks, the kids are exhausting, the house is a mess, the parents are difficult etc. Oh and if only there would be more time! I rarely hear someone being fully happy with what they have, focusing on the glass half full. I can feel the frustration that these people had because I have felt it too. This is why even the richest people would pay for mindfullness courses and achieving inner peace: it has the biggest value. You see, if by miracle you would have everything you ever wanted and still wouldn't know what to do with your life, that's the elephant in the room.
What we don't have works as the biggest distraction. Because if we consume ourselves with this thought, we exclude the opportunity of introspection and self analysis. Consumed by thoughts, we avoid the act of thinking. And it is so easy to drift by, to complain, to whine. To think that the world is not fair and somehow the Universe has to cater to you. Because you need it. Everybody needs it. All of us want it. But how many deserve it? The most important question one should ask to themselves is: do I deserve it all? Have I reached a level of self awareness and personal growth that everything I want will come to me?
The sense of entitlement is the biggest issue of our society. So many fantasize about the great things they deserve without doing the personal work, without realizing that in order to have it all you must become all. Within yourself. To be self sufficient and balanced. To work so much at your being that malice, evil, unfairness leaves you cold and not bitter. Their wrong doing is their problem, not yours. To be so much in control of your emotions that waking up having all or nothing is the same as long as you have yourself. The secret is not hoarding money, trying to get people's attention with the car/house/bike you have. It's never about that. Being good with yourself is the biggest treasure. You take your mind and soul with you wherever you go. You take your energy and spread it around. This is why happy people don't intentionally produce harm, malice. They have no reason to. Misery loves company because it knows no better.
Waking up in the morning completely free is a state that can be achieved before the actual freedom sets in. It is a mental state. This is how humans achieved high bliss even while locked in prisons. Freedom is a state of mind. It doesn't grow in bank accounts and in Instagram likes. It doesn't sit in Instastories and cool gadgets. It can't be bought with a higher paycheck and bigger house. Freedom is what we want to become when we don't have to become anything at all.
Have a great day and toodle loo!
