As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I love to drink tea. I like to try new flavors and take my time. It makes me put my life on pause and reflect on what matters : health and inner peace.
I wanted to make kurkuma tea as I remembered tasting it a year ago. I tried to make golden milk and I loved the taste. It was a novelty for me to mix milk with tea and I am glad that I tried something new.
I have made a short clip showing how tea and milk blend together, almost in an artistic way鉂わ笍
My short intro clip for kurkuma tea
I've made a little mistake when trying to film this as I bought a special glass cup to pour the hot water in. But as you will see in the long video, it didn't go very well馃槀
Kurkuma chai tea is a very flavored tea. I bought it from Yogi Tea and the spices it contains are very warm, earthy and aromatic. This tea contains : turmeric (55%), cinnamon (14%), sweet wood, ginger (7%), cardamom (3%), black pepper, apple, fennel, nutmeg, cloves, cocoa.
In order to prepare the golden milk you have to put a tea bag in 250 ml of hot milk and let it sit for 5 minutes. I use honey to make it sweet and I must tell you that you can really feel the cinnamon flavor in the golden milk. When you prepare the tea in the traditional way, turmeric and pepper are more easily perceived than the other flavors.
I do recommend you trying this tea as it is very aromatic and has a very warm sweet taste, making you feel wrapped in a sweet cocoon of peace when drinking it slowly.
I felt an urge to buy a traditional set for serving tea and I went to an antique shop. I loved antique shops since I was a teen, as I enjoyed looking through vintage stuff and hunt the treasures馃槏 I managed to find a green little set and I thought it would look cute for future tea making 馃嵉
On the bottom of the set I have seen written The Republic of Ireland, Connemara Celtic ceramics. So they must be pretty old. Green is one of my favorite colors so I was instantly attracted to it.
I wonder how many people before me made tea in it and how many stories have been shared near a cup of hot tea from this set..... There is so much joy in sharing a good story while enjoying a tasty hot drink.
Have a beautiful day and toodle loo!
