Once I managed to finish this drawing of my bee in 33 hours, I felt like I wanted to share some of the "behind the scenes" photos. Stippling art is not an easy process and it demands continuous focus and dedication. You can stop earlier and finish faster, but it would not give the same result.
First I always start with a pencil sketch, carefully contouring my idea. Then I gradually make an outline with dots.
After that, I usually prefer to work on the darker areas, the places where I need to stipple the most.
Then I focus on the details. As the drawing starts to get shape, I have to get further away and look from a distance and get back, in order to make it look realistic. This is the toughest part
The thing is that the thinner the isograph pen is, the better the result. I now work with 0.25 mm one, but I plan to advance to 0.1 mm. Harder work, but better results.
