Hey all,
One of my basil pots was getting ready to bolt(flower) and I don't want that because its taste changes, quite distinctively so and most people don't like it; as a result I've decided to top the plants and use the leaves.
This weekend one of my friends and neighbours is going to host a bbq so I've turned the basil into some lovely pesto that I can take over there.
My friend hosting the bbq is called K, and I've tried to convince her for the last two weeks to join steemit and she doesn't seem too keen on the idea, maybe I emphasised the blockchain part of it too much when I told her about steemit and perhaps that's what put her off. She's a great writer, her posts always make you laugh or smile, regardless of the subject approached.
Could I please ask you to leave a supportive message for K? Let's try and get her to join steemit, she would be a perfect fit here! I'm going to give her the pesto and show her the messages this Sunday.
Alright, let's get into it. Plants.
All ingredients. Basil leaves(I don't use the stalks as some of my basil is 6 months old and they become woody, but young plants can be used stalks and all), half a lemon, parmesan (just the parts I cut at the foreground), pine nuts, garlic, oil (olive oil is the classic choice, I've had rapeseed oil around) and salt and pepper.
I put the garlic, parmesan, pine nuts, oil, salt, pepper into my kitchen robot and squeezed the lemon on top. Blitzed them all first.
I add the basil leaves last, because if you add them add the start with all the other ingredients they will be blitzed for too long and that makes them lose their lovely green colour.
I've then jarred it up and added a layer of oil on top to seal it and make it keep longer.
Thank you for reading and for any tries to convince K into joining steemit!
Cheers
Cos
