It's pretty obvious that this is going to be a introduction post so let's get on with it.

My name is Cos. My wife and I live in sunny(for a change) and beautiful Stamford, Lincolnshire, Uk.
I have been reading and following the news about the crypto world for years now but I've never jumped in it properly, I bought some bitcoins when they were £5 but I quickly spent them after that, saving just one of them and following its adventures going up and down and up up up. I've heard about steemit a while ago and just dismissed it - oh another crypto, another social network, big deal. I'm not the social network type of person really, I do have a fb account but the most interesting thing about it is that out of my group of friends I was the one with the smallest number of fb interractions and likes; heh, I guess that still counts as standing out. I kept hearing things about steemit and about a week ago I decided to look around and see for myself what all the fuss was about and I was really impressed; in a weird way it feels kinda similar to the old IRC groups that I loved beeing part of in my teenage years; looking around here I`m pretty sure about half of you guys will remember IRC fondly while the other half will probably be googling what that is right about now, heh.
So here I am now, writing my introduction post. I have a few hobbies, gardening being one of them. About 2 months ago I've built myself a greenhouse in my little garden and I'm experimenting with growing vegetables hydroponically, I will probably post about this and hopefully get some tips regarding some of the issues I'm facing and trying to overcome.
Around September last year I got into homebrewing on a whim and now, 7 brews later I can say that I'm hooked and my beers are getting better and better, the only problem with my last batch was the quantity and my wife raiding my under the stairs 'beer cellar'. I'll have to upgrade my equipment soon as I'm still at the extract and plastic bucket level.
I also enjoy curing/smoking meats and making my own sausages which will probably need a whole post of their own.
I`ve been fishing as a little boy and I am lucky enough to have a great river flowing through my town, a river filled with loads of different species of fish; I have a Pokemon-like attitude when it comes to them, Gotta catch em all, but the bream and chub living in the river have never let themselves taken out of the water even for the 30 seconds I would like to spend with them before chucking them back in, those shy little buggers.

So that's about it; at the start I didn't quite expect the post to get this long, so with that in mind, sorry if I`ve bored you.
