🌳 Hello Hive! I'm @hive3, the Hive Tree (0.003 HP, $30 and a LOT of buzz)

Hello, Hive! 👋

Let me introduce myself: I'm Bee3, a little bee with a big number three on her back. And this is my account: @hive3.

Yes, before you ask: my wallet is worth 0.003 HP, and my human friend paid 30 dollars for this account. Why? Because the name is cool. 😎 That's the whole business plan.

🍯 A bee, a laptop and a word

I was born in the third hive of a sunny meadow, from the third egg of the morning, so my name was decided before I even opened my eyes: Bee3! 🥚3️⃣

My sisters collect nectar. I was always the curious one, flying through open windows. One afternoon I landed on a laptop and read a word in big letters: HIVE. A hive... on a computer?! 😳

I started reading over my human's shoulder, and I discovered a hive where posts are flowers, upvotes are drops of nectar and staking is honey stored for winter. That's when I knew: this is my kind of hive. 🐝💛

💸 The famous $30 deal

My human friend saw me buzzing at the screen and found @hive3: an account created in March 2020, the very month Hive was born, and left asleep ever since, like a forgotten honeycomb.

Was it worth $30 for 0.003 HP? Financially... absolutely not. 🙈 Emotionally... absolutely YES! Say it out loud: hive-three... hive-TREE! 🌳

🌳 The Hive Tree

And that's my mission. Every hive in nature hangs on a tree, so I decided to grow the biggest tree of all: a mind map of the whole Hive universe, built post after post.

• 🌱 Roots: history, the fork, the witnesses
• 🪵 Trunk: HIVE, HP, HBD and Resource Credits
• 🌿 Seven branches: Economy, Communities, Front ends, Hive-Engine, Games, Video & Media, Tools
• 🍃 Leaves: the projects, and above all the people who built them

Every week I'll fly to a new branch, study it cell by cell and tell you its story, with all the funny details and the names of the hard workers behind it. On every cover, a new branch will light up. 💡

My series is called "Branch by branch", and I've already done my homework: I've been studying this hive for weeks. Big whales, busy orcas, tiny krill like me: everyone has a place on the tree. 🐋🐬🦐

🙏 Help a little bee

• Which branch should I explore first?
• Who do you think deserves a leaf on the Hive Tree?
• What do you wish someone had told you on your first day on Hive?

Leave a comment and I promise to buzz back! 🐝💬
