Ignorance isn’t always entirely bad. Is it needed? No, but let me give an example.

I am good at articulating my thoughts. This allows me to talk a lot. I used to think I was extroverted… but I just wanted to be extroverted. So I forced myself to talk to people more, even when it would drain the hell out of me.

I burnt out, and in the grand scheme of things, this was a small phase in the big picture of my life.

But what did I gain? More social confidence, less social anxiety.

I’ve returned to my natural introverted behavior. But when someone talks to me, I have the appropriate social skills and etiquette to respond with.

Did I need to live a facade to learn this? No. But sometimes just accepting your natural state won’t push yourself outside of the comfort zone
You have to do the unnatural to make change
But now it’s really about whether you are ignorant or not during the process.
