My 5km parkrun took me 25:50 and got me 17th across the line, 2nd female, 1st in my age category and... a number 9 for my Wilson Index. Hahaha. If you know what the hell I'm talking about, pop your Wilson Index in the comments!
And if you're a parkrunner but you have no idea what this challenge is that I've mentioned, ask me in the comments and I'll explain!
But before all of that silliness I did the First Timers Brief to an audience of about 40 or 50 tourists (no actual first timers to parkrun this week!). I do love this role; I get to volunteer/contribute, I get to teach/speak to a group, I get to be useful and I still get to run or walk the course (or do a second vollie role if I want to - which, sometimes, I do want!)
And before all THAT, I was walking around, hugging my awesome parkrun buddies. I'm delighted the volunteer photographer got this one on camera. It was a good hug! And I'm so grateful that with the current state of (almost no) Covid issues in SE Qld that hugs are something we can currently, safely, share.
