There has been ALOT of FUD around lately with the crypto markets seeming to be in a neverending downward trend. This has also led the Steem blockchain to be a lot less active, with people seeming to stop blogging and 'waiting' for the price to rise again. However, although the price is low right now, it is the perfect time to accumulate Steem, and build your influence for the future of Steem!
Buying Steem
For those of you who have some spare FIAT, now seems to be a good time to start thinking about buying some Steem to build your account. With the price around $0.33 it seems like a pretty good time to think about buying. I haven't got any money to invest right now, but a few of the Steemians I am following I see are taking this oppurtunity to buy some cheap Steem and build their account for the future.
Yes the prices might go lower, but if you are here for the long run then it shouldn't matter too much. I think most of us agree that sooner or later the prices of the whole crypto market will show some sort of reversal.
Earning Steem through blogging and dapps
With lower user levels, now is the time to get stuck in with Steem. Less active users mean that it is easier to get noticed by manual curators. I remember when the price was about $4 when I joined, and gaining any sort of attention for posts without bid bots was very difficult. In the last few weeks I have had more random upvotes than I have ever had. It seems a bit counterintuitive, but there are users out their who are manually curating good content still, and now they have less BS to sort through.
I think that we are also seeing who the future minded Steemians are (basically anyone who is still around now after being here for the last 6 months or more). These are the types of people I want to follow and interact with, as they will be the ones who will be here through thick and thin.
It may seem tough right now, especially earning alot less per post than has been possible in the past. But rememeber, each Steem you earn now could be worth $1, $5, $10, $50 or even more in the future! No one really knows, and apart from time I don't really have anything to lose so I will stay here and find out what the future holds.
