Lazarus was once a bustling metropolis
But now it's a city of near ruin
A victim of rising tides and climate change
Now it's a watery grave
But some of us refuse to leave
We've made our home in a sunken skyscraper
And we eke out a living in the ruins
We scavenge and fish and farm
And we try to keep the memories alive
Of the city that once was
But it's hard when all you see is death
And the only sound is the lap of water
But we cling to hope
And each other
And we carry on
Because Lazarus is our home
