A couple hours ago, I broke my 72-hour fast (which actually ended being 73 due to poor planning). I had a bunch of nuts, nut butter (almost half a jar of chocolate Nutzo to be exact) , and two tins of oysters. Tried to avoid almost all carbohydrate to avoid any blood sugar spike/crash later in the evening. I felt fine, and certainly better than other times when I've broken fasts, but my stomach certainly was not happy with me for about an hour afterwards. If you're reading, I'm curious: how do you break a fast? Any foods you try to incorporate/avoid? I'm planning on doing salmon/nuts for my next three-day in one month; hoping some more real food with less fat (especially less nut butter) will help ease the digestion a bit while still not spiking the glucose levels. Let me know if you have any ideas!
