Ever have one of those days where it seems the universe is conspiring against you? One thing after another goes sideways and you just can't seem to get anything accomplished? According to Wikipedia those days are formally known as 'Mondays'. Well, at least until they revert my edits...
If detected early, Mondays respond well to proper treatment. For best results treatment should involve a lowering of expectations for the day, along with an acknowledgment that bucking the universe is much like messing with Slim. Anecdotal evidence suggests profanity, particularly 'eh, fuck it' as well as adult beverages and substances are effective secondary treatments.
Hive Engine appears to have a bad case of the Mondays, I'm pretty sure that's where I caught it from. They seem to not be sending out withdrawals, which is a somewhat unusual symptom. I've not heard back from the CDC on this, anybody know what's going on?
Going sideways is still going somewhere I reckon. When the Case of the Missing LTC derailed my plans for the day I recognized the onset of symptoms and just went along for the ride. In this case it took me to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.
It was one hell of a ride, particularly along Old Fall River Road (visible in the photos above and below). @corvidae if you thought Highway 82 was fun you should drive this.
An old herbal remedy for the Mondays is getting high, anything over 7000 feet in elevation should do the trick. These photos are all from the 7000-12000 ft range and I already feel better.
Chipmunks are immune to Mondays, something to do with calendar deficiencies.
If left untreated, Mondays can become a chronic condition, much like the weather.
The sun is setting on my case of the Mondays so I should probably wrap this up.
Anybody else have a remedy for the #mondays?
