I've been encouraged to participate here so I thought I'd give it a shot, hopefully I'm doing this right :) Weekends are weird for me, I spent more than a decade working in restaurants so Saturdays and Sundays and most holidays were just another workday for me. I was always off Mondays and Tuesdays but that don't feel much like the weekend when all your friends have to get up and go to work in the morning and don't want to do anything fun.
Any of y'all had a weekend that ended up like the guy in the photo? They say bad decisions make for great stories so if you've got one, by all means share! I had one weekend where I accomplished this feat twice in the same weekend (there's a reason I no longer drink, I have no desire to replicate this). I'd started my weekend a bit early, cracking open a cold brew on the walk home when a couple plainclothes cops run up and slap on the shiny bracelets for drinking in public (I could literally see my apartment from where this went down). Having never been arrested before I decided to celebrate the return of my freedom upon my release, which was probably a little more enthusiastic than was necessary. In my surplus of enthusiasm I thought it a good idea to give a cop that I happened upon the old one finger salute. While I felt this was appropriate in light of my recent experience (victimless crimes are bullshit), he did not. My memories are a bit fuzzy from this stretch so I'm not sure what I got slammed into but this earned me a split chin and bruises in the shapes on his fingers on my shoulders (so much for free speech and the 1st Amendment, eh?), another fitting of the shiny bracelets, the words 'disorderly conduct' being thrown about, and another photo op at the county jail.
December will make 10 years since my last drink so I'm not too worried about repeating this anytime soon thankfully. My plans for this weekend are also much less exciting, a few hours of getting yelled and preached at and then helping my brother move on Saturday (you'd think by now humanity would have figured out a less stressful and hassle-filled way of switching domiciles). I'm hoping to go shooting on Sunday (with the camera, I'm conserving ammo right now) so I'm leaving it mostly open, spur of the moment photo adventures are the best! There's a couple repairs around the house that are waiting on me so if I drink enough coffee to get motivated I may just attend to them but being plan free is the plan for Sunday :)
In light of the first photo I will leave you with a quote from one of my favorite authors, Robert Heinlein--- "Be wary of strong drink. It can make you shoot at tax collectors...and miss" Have a good one y'all!
