For reals this time. We got lucky and dodged the bullet with Y2K but ever since the Acolytes of Ayn inexplicably failed to save us we've been turning and turning in that widening gyre. Don't worry though

There's a ranch down in Texas where they're raising colorful cars. Raising may be too strong of an adjective though, they've been planted since the 70s and all they've grown is a coat of paint. We passed

Don't ask me what that means. What do you think it means? Strange things are afoot for sure. But does it expose film? Asking for a friend. Been doing a little exposing myself, in dribs and drabs throughout

Words on a screen. How hard can it be? You can talk people's heads off all day long but somehow typing a bit is like pulling fingernails with rusty pliers. Three fucking songs. This calls for more coffee.

Got a chance to hang with everyone's favorite carcinogen recently. Thankfully I didn't have to hang it myself, it'd already been hung but it decided to hang around long enough I just had to shoot it. Every

Found out this morning that we have us some genuine celebrities coming to town here soon. The most famous church in America, Westboro Baptist, has announced a couple tour dates here in Louisville. Seems

It was one of those days to please Earl, grey as hell and spitting rain, and just warm enough to count as good weather in the Pacific Northwest. You know, tea weather. Rather than have a damn thing to

Been enjoying a complete lack of enthusiasm for editing photos lately, which usually means I have a mess of them that needs it. It's actually kind of nice when I'm procrastinating like that, may not get

Is it a higher power if your higher power is getting high? Remember y'all, the questions are the answers. Don't be looking for too many of those around here though, gonna have to get your own. Road goes

It's that most foul of Monday's, the first of those where it gets dark before it gets to be suppertime. There's plenty more of those a coming but that first one after the time change is always the worst.

No matter where I roam, Appalachia will always be home. Been an expat living amidst the flatlanders for half my life now but taking the hillbilly out of the holler does nothing to take the holler out of

While we were out in New Mexico fall dropped by Kentucky and decided to stick around for a while. Got back home and the leaves were all changing colors and falling, could only think of one thing: Got to

The news these days is starting to take on the aspect of a nightmare that you can't wake up from. In the Before Times that'd probably have been bad news for NIGHTMARE FUEL™ but ever since we started reminding

It's tourist season y'all, and this year there's no bag limit! Just don't shoot'em with anything kinetic. We just got back from a grand adventure out on the old Route 66, and although there was plenty

Got them post-adventure blues. Spent two weeks on the road in search of the American Dream, and now that I'm stationary again it's proving to be a bit galling. Still working on my final report on our search

It pains me to say it but our road trip in search of the American Dream is starting to wind down. Tomorrow we start the 1300 mile (2089 km) drive home and I can't say that I'm particularly looking forward

Steinbeck called it the mother road, overly enthusiastic boosters called it the Main Street of America, but no matter what you call it, Route 66 is probably the most well known stretch of highway in this

Greetings from Tulsa y'all! Our search for the ghost of the American Dream brought us to town around 2100 local time and I'd had too many caffeine pills so some photos had to get edited. Drove here from

Got my chips cashed in! Opted to edit photos and listen to the Grateful Dead rather than tune in to that debate reality show. Raise your hand if you'd rather watch paint dry than listen to politichickens
