Greetings from Tulsa y'all! Our search for the ghost of the American Dream brought us to town around 2100 local time and I'd had too many caffeine pills so some photos had to get edited. Drove here from St. Louis, Missouri this evening, left Louisville yesterday and got to St. Louis with enough time to scope the place out.
Is it just me or are interstate miles longer than they used to be? We spent the first half of today adventuring in St. Louis, mostly at the Gateway Arch before hightailing it for Tulsa.
May have got a bit high, 630 ft (192 m) to be exact. We couldn't resist the lure of the five seat commercial dryer ride to the top. I'd been here once before but I was old enough to curse but hadn't quite mastered cursive yet, so this was my first time getting photos.
Even without the wide angle's distortion it's hard to tell that the arch has exactly the same height and width. We had to make tracks for Tulsa so we didn't get to explore as much as we'd like but there's always the return trip. Going to visit Greenwood Rising, a history center on the Tulsa massacre that happened here just over a century ago.
Don't know that I'll take very many photos there but we're headed for Amarillo, Texas when we leave and that means Cadillac Ranch. Should have some shots from the car farm soon, will try and post a few in a day or two. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do.
