Got to thinking the other day, if microdosing is half as good for humans as they say it is, it'd probably be a good thing for cats too. Doesn't hardly seem fair for us to keep the serotonin superhighway all to ourselves. The cats ain't been quite right since I tossed firecrackers at the squirrel that had got in the kitchen and the hippies at the bar got me to thinking microdosing might could help.

Lately I've been finding them catatonic a lot more, usually accompanied by new tears in the catnip bag, so we had to do something. We turned to the Church but they wouldn't share the sacrament with our furry friends. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Two dive bars and three dreadlocked white dudes later we had our very own sacrament.

In hindsight I probably should have read some sort of instructions but I've never been one to let minor details slow me down. Figured a 50/50 mix of wet food and sacrament would be a good starting point so I tossed it in the blender and gave it to the boys. They scarfed it down with no problems, so far so good.

It wasn't until Evander went to jump on the couch and missed that I realized things may have went awry. These cats already stare at nothing all day but the intensity with which they had begun to do so soon made me suspect that there may have been more macro than micro to that dose.

Only one thing to do in that situation, introduce them to Hunter S. Thompson.

No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...and if it occasionally gets a little heavier than what you had in mind, well...maybe chalk it up to forced consciousness expansion: Tune in, freak out, get beaten.

Always reassuring, Hunter is. Dammit, stop licking that! Since they were more interested in licking drywall than hearing about consciousness expansion I shifted gears and gave them A Saucerful Of Secrets.

Floyd quickly worked their magic and soon they were both completely melted. After a trip to the dark side of the moon we moved on to Zeppelin and aside from an interlude talking to their reflections the rest of the trip was pretty mellow.

Ever since they've seemed a lot better, or at least more relaxed although Evander now refuses to eat anything but vegan cat food and Tito seems to have taken up yoga. Have you considered microdosing your cat?

To be perfectly clear, no cats were dosed in the making of this post. Met some people from the church I linked to and it got me wondering how difficult it would be to convince them to dose their pets...and somehow that led to this. All art made with MidJourney for #caturday.
