Spring is less than three weeks away but I wish it would hurry up and get here. The snow and ice has finally all melted and now I'm just waiting for the spring flowers to start popping up. These photos are all from last spring, when we were actually under a lockdown and I had nothing to do but wander the neighborhood with my Nikon.
It's nice and sunny today but this weekend we got a good bit of rain, and other parts of the state got even more. I found out yesterday that my hometown is almost completely underwater! It's located where the three forks of the Kentucky River come together so a little flooding is normal for this time of year but this exceeds anything I've ever seen. They were having to use city dump trucks to rescue people living in town yesterday, and parts of the county are cut off from the rest of the county until the waters recede a bit. The river isn't even supposed to crest until tomorrow so it will be a while still before things start getting better.
Speaking of things getting better, I just found out that I'm eligible for the covid vaccine now! Around here they'd pretty much deemed anyone who couldn't work from home 'essential' and we're finally to the point were we're essential enough to qualify. Who else has had the vaccine? Any of y'all going to refuse to get it?
I'm wondering how much things will go back to how they were pre-covid and how much has permanently changed. We've still got a while to go before we will know the answers to that but I'm kinda hoping the shift away from face to face interactions sticks around. What covid caused changes would you like to see stick around?
