There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part! And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop! And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it — that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all! ---- Mario Savio

It only took a few hours for people here in Louisville to take to the streets in response to the Supreme Court decision on Friday.

The ACLU had a shindig on the steps of the federal courthouse, all the local politicos were there. Each took a turn on the mic repeating their tired old mantra of "Vote!" Pretty sure we wouldn't have been there if that actually worked.

When Mayor Fischer took the mic he was treated to chants of "Breeway!" and "Breonna Taylor!" Seems some of us hadn't forgotten what he'd done in 2020.

LA and some other places around the country seems to be replicating the police antics of 2020 but LMPD left us alone Friday. Then again that took a few days for that to catch on here in 2020, so we'll see how long it lasts.

It was kinda curious looking at news coverage afterwards, there was no mention of the mayor getting heckled into silence less than a week after he'd made national news for getting punched. One local news station seemed to have difficulty counting, describing the crowd as 'dozens of protesters.' (The photo above shows less than half the crowd, couldn't get it all in one shot using my 50mm lens)

Maybe we should just declare a 'War on Abortion.' Perhaps then it'll be as cheap and readily available as coke, speed, and weed is...

That'll probably have to wait until after the next coup d'état attempt...
