The NFAC (Not Fucking Around Coalition) militia has visited Louisville a couple times this year, along with their leader, Grandmaster Jay. He recently made the news when he was arrested on federal charges for allegedly pointing a rifle at local and federal police (news story on that here).
Grandmaster Jay can be seen in this second photo, just above the kneeling militiamen about two thirds of the way to the left with the green scarf looking thing around his neck. These photos are from NFAC's first visit to Louisville, the incident the arrest is over is from the second visit here.
I feel like it's kinda rich that he's getting arrested for the same thing LMPD and the feds have been doing all summer to the protesters, pointing guns and spotlights down from rooftops and firing pepper balls from their elevated perches. To me this seems like Barr and the DoJ are attempting to settle scores and stir things up while they still can. I suspect that this will end up going the same route as when LMPD arrested Representative Attica Scott and charged her with rioting, accusing her of trying to burn the public library down, namely that it's all for show and then charges will be dropped in a month or two.
Photo above is of the spotlights and spotters watching the park on Sept 23rd. The street that Jay and company parked on is just to its left, out of the frame of the shot, I'm almost certain it is the building that the officers accusing him of pointing a rifle were atop. At various points this summer I've managed to spot SWAT team members and National Guard on top of it watching us.
This last photo is of two members of SWAT watching NFAC on their first visit from a different rooftop. That time there were lots of people pointing guns in both directions (a la the first photo) but there were no arrests or even trouble over it. Somehow I suspect that things will continue to stay interesting around here for some time to come...
