It's fair season! The Kentucky State Fair is in full swing over at the fairgrounds here in Louisville and I couldn't hardly resist its siren song.
For many people, the food at the fair is the main attraction but for me it's the fairgoers themselves that are the main attraction.
Too much street photography just begging to be shot for me to pass it up. Plus I had photos in the photography contest so I had to check and see if I'd won anything.
Speaking shooting things, it wouldn't be the state fair without displays of old military hardware. The guns in the displays were far from the only firearms at the fair but only one person got shot while we were there.
As shootings go here it wasn't much, just a case of negligence so gross it'll make your jaw drop.
There's such a variety of people and things at the state fair, something for everyone to point at.
Hell, there's even in-person infomercials for if you get bored or are just feeling nostalgic for the good old days of insomnia television.
It appeared they'd implemented a novel solution to the age old problem of long lines for rides. Guess it's hard for there to be much of a line at the rides if everyone in line waiting to get tickets for them.
Once you got tickets though, you were good. Well, assuming you actually enjoyed the rides. The poor lady on the Ferris wheel with the kids seemed to be doing her best to disassociate.
Some of the adults appeared to have forgotten how to have fun at the fair.
Not everyone had though...
It was a fairly good crowd, they even had to close the main gate for an hour because parking was getting scarce. Going to give it another visit on Friday, so consider this fair warning, there's going to be more photos.
