Berlin - The Place to be...
For almost 10 years and counting, I have been exploring my city on bike. Why you ask? Well, it all started when I strolled through Berlin with my girlfriend back in 2009. I realized how little I really looked at my own city and how much more there was to see then my "everyday routes".
So, as time allowed, I started exploring not knowing where it would take me one the day. I´d take public transport to a stop I had never got off before and started cycling all the way back to my home. Sometimes they where short 3 hour trips, some lasted a whole day.
I tried to turn many corners and abandonned places, little hide outs or see the typical tourist sights and sounds from a different viewpoint then the one´s I had seen before.
It´s become one of my favorite projects: Berlin 365. Throughout the years I have been taking photos in Spring, Summer, Autum and Winter. What was once a one year project (365 days) of photography, has turned into ongoing fun of exploring my hometown and still being able to find new stuff I had never seen before.
It´s a great way of exploring your own city and really get to know it from a different view point. Just go out and create.
