Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I finally sat down and did some organizing of my photos - something I've been putting off for a bit!

Organizing Hundreds of Photos

I need to get better at keeping up with my photos lol.

I got myself into a pickle where I've been stashing away lots of photos that I've taken, planning on posting them on Hive over the last several weeks. With work going sideways and me getting involved in something that took far too much of my time, I was mentally unable to do a lot of things and one of those things was spending some time going through and doing some editing and organizing of my photos.

I decided to do a little bit of that tonight! I know that it's going to be important to keep up with this over the next week or two so that I can go back to a semblance of some organization but it felt good to be able to go back through the photos and store them in the appropriate folders. It's been quite a while since I've done that!

I'll be adding some small snippets of the photos here and talk about them a little bit but I wanted to mainly get some uploaded and go from there. I like to organize some of the photos into their own individual posts where I go into more detail about what exactly we were doing and when it was etc. so I don't do that here to the extent I would on that, but giving a little bit of a brief overview!

I've got a lot of pictures of the mountain rivers. I don't know what it is about rivers and taking pictures of them but I love them for sure! I know that I will be trying to sprinkle them in here and there over the next few posts but not do something back to back. I'm not one to do something completely back to back like that, it doesn't seem as interesting and sometimes gets boring lol.

The crazy thing is that these photos were taken on my phone! I know the phones these days are absolutely a far cry from where they were years ago particularly when it comes to the camera. The camera clarity and strength on these things is unreal! Some of my favorite photos of all time taken from my devices are from my phone. I won't say that I dislike my DSLR, I love that thing as well but it's a little different taking these photos on a phone which is incredibly light weight and fits right into your hand. The DSLR is certainly larger and takes up more physical space but it does a far better job of taking range photos than the phone. The phone is best for macro photography, or I guess close-up but not necessarily macro.

It's actually been a lot of fun getting back into using my DSLR since we bought a new one last year, the photo quality from it is unreal! I know that I often take pictures from my phone, from the quality we can see here in this post but taking it from the DSLR is equally as amazing and a lot of fun.

Because taking these photos is so easy, I've taken what feels like way too many of them lol. That's what makes organizing them a little tricky because I have to spend a decent amount of time looking at them to see what ones are good and what ones are shit and best just deleted. First world problems that's for sure but still a problem when it comes to time management. With getting the photos into their respective folders, it helps me not have to scroll through a gigantic list of pictures that I've updated and exported but not organized. Sometimes looking for photos for my posts can have me spend a few minutes just seeing what mood I'm feeling and going with that photo haha.
