The other day, this article came across my Feedly. I'm always on the lookout for cocktails using green chartreuse or amari, so this was of double interest.
I made up a couple glasses while Cathy and I worked on dinner. I subbed in Amador for the bourbon because that's what we're drinking this week, and Brovo Amaro #1 because I have too many amari on the bar and this one is the closest to being used up.
It was good, not great. I might tweak the ratios a little to see if I like it better one way or the other. One thing that I really like about drinks like this is the Scotch wash. I'm not much of a Scotch fan for sipping -- I prefer bourbons, but the peat-fire odor as I took sips of this was really pleasant and enhanced the cocktail with a sort of framing or contextual odor.
Anyway, if this sounds like your jam, give it a try!
