Today was the day.
I have the ultimate goal of one day being self sufficient. With this involves killing of my live stock. So today i killed one of my roosters. I did feel a bit of remorse which i dont think will get easier but i believe if you eat meat you should be able to process it or at least be able to watch the proceee. Yes its sad to watch life go before your eyes.
So I lobbed its head off hung it up to drain the blood then plucked its feathers.
Then came the part of taking out the offal. Well this is where i failed. I accidently cut the the gizzard bag. Cut the intestines. It really was a failure hahaha.
I watched youtube video after youtube video. Man they make it look easier.
I have 3 more roosters and dont want to fail each time... till next weekend.
Also i was unsure if putting photos up of my process was to graphic or not. Please let me know. And if you can help me with the gut removal im all ears.
