Power-full Needlework Co-creators...

When I cleared and reset my clothing rail (un-wardrobe) recently, I pulled out the magical shirt I created with a collective of women and artists, a few years back. It was one of the last things I shared, before being hounded out of mainstream... Memories flooded back of its creation, as I lovingly washed and rehung it to dry...

I worked most extensively on it whilst travelling to Scotland from Italy, and visiting close friends and family. The living act of sewing was an incredible means of connecting with folk, in bars and cafés, on trains, planes, ferries and buses, and by the fireside of dear co-creative souls.

The alchemy and healing aspects were profound - some of this I can appreciate more fully now, years later: e.g. how the needlework is avery real, tangible healing modality, especially embroidered symbols and spontaneous-intuitive-visionary work and working amongst others - even in public places. What I know now helps me recognise how I was testing and playing with the fabric of my energetic body - and the fabric of our collective reality.

It was exciting to look at the intricacy of the stitches again, and to know the power of them more fully...

.... to know that every stitch, step, phase, field, season and cycle that we participate in, is part of a great Cosmic landscape of energy-trying-to-become-even-more-conscious.

The web of women who participated in the project held this beautiful space of accountability and encouragement - much like this glorious group on Hive of needleworkmonday@needleworkmonday - I was sad to feel the creative energy dissipate and peter out eventually, and I am infinitely appreciative of community endeavours like this one, where the long-term is sustained.

As all kinds of things crumble around me - old systems and beliefs, technologies and utilities, currencies and norms - I'm comforted by my participation in circles and nests like these, where we can remind ourselves and each other of the underlying mysticism of life, and feel it through our hands crafting, making, co-creating...In this way, we KNOW that our creativity is the solution to everything.

LOVE!

Clare.
