Mamela is a universally relatable song as we regular people toil under the Governments and politicians that have promised so much and delivered so little.
Between incompetance and corruption, it's no wonder that the general public continues to grow anxious and angry at the lack of service delivery as funds that were supposed to be used wisely to improve various sectors like water and sanitation, education, electricity, health, and roadworks, end up in the deep pockets of corrupt politicians and nepotic government tenders.
Of course, they distract us with a constant barrage of propaganda to keep us busy, so that we don't pay attention to what really matters. They have us arguing over our opinions on religion, gender politics and race wars, spending so much time believing that those who don't agree with us are monstrous in some way.
We feel pressured into polarization and forget that "the opposition" is also human with valid needs and opinions.
If only we could get over ourselves and just LISTEN to each other.
